Task: Prepare a 1,000-word assignment comparing developments at institutions citing at least three readings
assigned to the class. Search through the newspapers archives of each institution and/or the Chronicling America
database (links and instructions below) and identify one article from three of the databases listed (i.e. three
articles in total) which speaks of (dis)enfranchisement, voting, and/or democracy following the instructions
below. Citing works read for class, indicate three themes that emerge from the articles in relation to democracy in
America, citing similarities and differences. Submit your essay and the research reports through the course’s
Brightspace site.
